Hi my name is Raizen and I am the creator of this blog and i will share to you my opinions, reviews, and stories and things that influenced me on anime and gaming.
I hope you stick with me on the beginning of my journey here on my blog!!!
“The beginning is the most important part of the work.”
This anime is one of those series that really makes anyone go in a roller coaster of feels throughout the series, the anime we are going to discuss is Clannad and Clannad: After Story.
Clannad and Clannad: After Story are animes by Kyoto Animation and based on a visual novel of the same name developed by Key.
Clannad and Clannad: After Story are a romance drama anime that are based on a visual novel and since it’s based on a visual novel it’s kinda hard to adapt those into anime since on visual novels you usually go to different paths and routes depending on your choices and if those visual novels are ever to be adapted into anime they will have to pick a certain path or route to tell the story, however while all those factors I said implies to the difficulty of the adaptation Clannad did a good job of making a great anime adaptation of the visual novel they chose a route that great and able to continue the story with not much of a conflict in story.
Clannad visual novel gameplay
The story of Clannad focuses on Okazaki, Tomoya and Furukawa, Nagisa they are the main characters of the story especially on the after story, the first part of Clannad focuses on the side stories of the other characters around them where they go and try to resolve the conflict of each arc with it’s own dramatic story for each character, each of those side arc features sad stories that key is known for and Clannad is no exception.
While the first part of the story completely revolves on their high school life and the other characters the story starts to break away on the 2nd part where all the characters graduate high school and the main focus of the story is the 2 main characters Nagisa and Tomoya both of them got together on the 1st half and on the 2nd half they continue their life beyond high school and it’s very refreshing to see romance anime that goes beyond high school since most romance anime tend to stop after both of the characters step on the 1st base of the relationship and stops on high school while on the other hand after story gave you a complete story with life beyond high school and it’s a great change of pace from usual romance anime.
And since the 2nd part of the story is the critically acclaimed one After Story just showed stories and arcs about the usual real life drama we all experience and give it life in the anime it makes the story relatable and since we known the 2 characters since the 1st season we get emotionally attached to those characters making it more harder for us to see them struggle and it’s really one hell of a emotional roller coaster I don’t want to get details but if you want to watch the 2nd part be sure that your prepared for anything.
That being said you should really watch Clannad if you ever challenge yourself to not cry on an anime and while the anime is kinda sad the ending is paramount me personally after I watch the whole anime I got into reflecting my daily actions and moved me to a point that I want to be a good person I want to be a good father and husband in the future and it’s amazing that an anime made me think about things about life like this it’s really something else and this anime will surely have a special place in my heart and I hope to extend those feelings I felt while watching the anime to other people and really this anime definitely try it out.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is one of the most popular anime series and one of my favorite anime of all time, today we are going to take a look on why you should watch it.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is an anime by David Production and based on a manga of the same name by Hirohiko Araki.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is an anime about the adventures of the Joestar family starting from a evil adopted sibling rivalry to becoming the bizarre show that it is today, it’s a series that fans love until today from the first manga being published on 1986 to the 8th story arc of the series at the present Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is really something special.

One of the main appeal of the anime to me is how it’s separated to multiple parts where you don’t need to know the other parts to enjoy unlike any other shounen anime where you need to understand the rest of the story to know whats happening on the other parts, and because of this multiple story arc Jojo is always fresh and brings new story and ideas every part.
From r/wallpapers by u/DevilishMessenger
Beginning on the 1st part about Jonathan vs Dio a evil sibling who becomes a vampire, to the 2nd part about Jonathan’s decendant Joseph who fights ancient immortal beings, on the 3rd part about Joseph’s grandchild Jotaro embarking on a journey across the world, the 4th part about Joseph’s illegitimate child Josuke finding the mysteries about their town, 5th part about DIO’s son on a italian gangster story, part 6 about Jotaro’s daughter on a prison break story, 7th part about Johnny Joestar embarks on a horse race along the whole United States of America, and the current 8th part about Josuke Higashikata( a different character on part 4 Josuke) an amnesic guy getting involved in a hunt for a fruit that cures any illness.

All those stories are very different from each other and it leaves you wanting more and the once claimed manga that is un-adaptable is now a big hit today, currently the anime is airing the Part 5 of the story and David production’s adaptation of the manga is certainly an amazing and loyal one it really shows what makes Jojo amazing and because of this anime adaptation the once influential manga that’s only known in Japan is now shown to the whole world gathering new fans across the globe, and also the Jojo fanbase is one hell of a fanbase it’s a very loyal and active fanbase that will surely hook you in once you get exposed on what is Jojo.
Jojo is an anime you really can’t explain in a logical way cause sometimes it doesn’t makes sense at all and really makes the show BIZARRE in it’s own right it’s something you really need to dive into and experience what is Jojo all about, and if your gonna ask me if you should watch it my answer will be HELL YEAH go watch it you won’t regret it.
I also want to feature videos from Gigguk and Mother’s Basement explaining why you should watch Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure if your not sold yet and also those videos really give a more in depth explanation why Jojo is a big thing in the anime community.
League of Legends is a very special game to me I’ve been playing it since it’s 2nd season on 2011 and since then I experienced many fun and salty memories since playing this game.
League of Legends is a MOBA(Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game that was developed and published by Riot Games the game is free to play.
League of Legends or what most people call it LoL or League is a MOBA game and It’s gameplay is very similar to DotA a game that many people here in our country knows and at the time where I started playing League of Legends DotA was still the #1 game since League just recently released their PH server at the time.
Soon after It’s 2nd world championship the game took off in popularity because unlike DotA League is a more fast paced game with game time averaging from 20-35 mins most of the time, unlike DotA where most of it’s games are 35-50 mins which is very long and since many people don’t own a PC in their home they often play in a computer shop and since time is limited in computer shops people want to maximize their time by playing more games as possible on their rented time and since League offered a faster game time and a much simplified gameplay rather than the complex mechanics of DotA more people Jumped into playing League of Legends.
Since then League of Legends became one of the biggest games in the world by having 80 million monthly players and Over 27 million daily players across all servers last year, it cemented it self as one of the most played video game in the world, and since the player base of League is very big eSports became a big factor with world championships being played in different countries at different continents and lots of pro players and teams across all regions competing to be the best, regional leagues for the game having big sponsors like Nike, Shell and many other brands coming to the market and investing on eSports becoming a pro player has been a big deal since then.
Although I did not aspired to be a professional player I did enjoy my time playing the game casually with friends I made a lot of good memories with this game, back then when our class is over me and my friends will go to my place and play League and try to compete against each other and sometimes we often teamed up to ranked high in the rank ladder and since we had a computer shop business until now I’ve met many people by playing this game.
Until today I still play it with my friends and we often play ranked games and sometimes we try to play bet matches or tournaments which is fun and it also makes us feel like we are playing a sport “our sport” since League of Legends is a very competitive game.
Here is a clip of me and my friends playing a game
And League of Legends today is a big deal many people can find a job by just playing League by means of streaming or creating content for the game, it’s really amazing to think that some people today can make a living out of video games it was just an idea back then that was really not possible but now more and more people are accepting League of Legends and not just League but many other big eSport titles to be something you can make a living and it’s amazing by just a small span of time a small idea became a reality.
Today we are going to take a look at osu! a “Free to Win” Rhythm game that I’ve been playing since 2013.
osu! is a free to win open-source game developed by developed and published by Dean Herbert (aka. Peppy or PPY).
osu! has 4 game modes osu! standard, taiko, osu! catch and osu! mania.
The 1st one is the osu! standard, it’s the classic game mode based on games from the Nintendo DS Osu! Tatakae! Ouedan and Elite Beat Agents where the main elements of the game is tapping the circles, dragging the ball across a fixed path, and rotating the spinner very fast and they are timed to the beat of a song.
osu! standard also features a different playstyle where you use your mouse to aim and your keyboard to click the notes but throughout the years many people found different ways to play osu! standard, some people use a graphics tablet to aim (instead of a mouse) and a keyboard to click notes and some people use the mouse to click and aim and some people use the tablet to tap then at fast sections use the keyboard while some use touchscreen to play osu!.
let me show you a video from Squashy Boy to show you the different playstyles from osu! standard.
The 2nd game mode is Taiko which is based on a Japanese game called Taiko no Tatsujin where you simulate playing on a Taiko drum and hit the notes scrolling from right to left.
The 3rd one is osu! catch or formerly known as Catch the Beat is a game mode where you control a character and you catch the falling fruits to the beat.
And the 4th one is osu! mania it’s based on games like Beatmania IIDX, O2Jam, and DJMax, this game mode is very similar to most rhythm games format of pressing the note on the correct time what makes osu! mania different is having the option of changing how many keys you can play for example on Guitar Hero you have 5 keys and on Dance Dance Revolution you have 4 Keys, it’s kinda similar to Taiko but osu! mania’s notes scroll vertically while Taiko notes scroll horizontally.
The game also has mods where you can make songs easier or harder to play it can make the game faster or make the notes invisible or you can make the game easier by having the song slow down or don’t fail, these mods affects your scoring system and makes the game even more challenging and fun to play across all mods.
And since the game is free and open-source many people can contribute to the game for example the game has a beatmap editor tool where players can make beatmaps on songs that they like, and they can get it ranked or loved and be played by other players in the game, and since players can create beatmaps the game has a lot of songs to choose from, it can be an anime song, K-pop, punk rock, or any genre you can think of, and that makes the game even more appealing to other people since other rhythm games often has a finite amount of songs where the player can play and other games requires you to purchase the song to be played while on osu! you can choose as many as you want or have the same song but with different styles of mapping for free, there are a whole lot of things you can do in the game and that makes the game even more enjoyable.
Here is a playlist of a in depth analysis on how to map on osu! by pishifat.
The game also has a skinning feature where you can customize and edit elements in the game for example you can change the look of the notes in other game mode and also change the default hitsound sound effect which makes customization have more personality.
Here are some videos about skins on osu! by tokaku.
Until this day I still play this game and the game mode I mainly play is osu! standard it’s very fun to play especially when you get to play hard maps and pass or full combo, what makes me play the game until today is the rank and multiplayer system the game it features a global ranking and country ranking where whoever has the highest Performance Points becomes number 1 and you get those Performance Points by playing ranked maps also ranked maps shows the top 50 scores in a difficulty and some of my scores were also part of the top 50 scores and those milestones motivates me even further to play the game and improve.
The multiplayer function of the game is great since you can play with many people across the world in the multiplayer lobby, and because of that I made friends with different people whom I’ve met in the game.
And since the gamemode I play is osu! standard I use the mouse and keyboard playstyle which helped me also to develop good mechanical skills like being fast at typing and faster reaction time since I mostly play fast maps on the game and it’s great to see those skills carry out on other games that I play.
It’s a kind of game I can play competitively or just play for fun and since I really got into playing the game I even made a youtube channel where I post my high scores and personal bests on a beatmap I played.
Here is a video of me playing (c) Glenn Jimenez for taking the video
If you are a fan of horror especially the Final Destination series this anime is the one you should be watching.
Another is an anime by P.A. Works and based on a Novel by the same name created by Ayatsuji, Yukito.
The story of Another follow the story of Sakakibara Koichi, Misaki Mei and their classmates on class 3-3 on a mystery that started on 1972, where a popular student on their school part of class 3-3 named Misaki passed away during the school year, and since then their town has been shrouded with mystery and dark secrets.
Another is a horror that really brings out the suspense, mystery and thriller element it’s not the gore and violence that makes the anime scary its how the story was presented that makes the whole anime scary, and since another is a very popular horror anime it is home of some of the most popular death scenes in anime for example the umbrella death scene and the teacher suicide scene.
I don’t want to go much in to detail about the plot since it’s best if you find out what happens on your own and the anime is not that long it’s just 12 episodes and you can finish it in one sitting, and it’s a really good anime especially if you really like horror.
The final Pokemon game on the Nintendo DS brings back the Unova region one last time, today we are going to take a look at Pokemon Black and White 2.
Pokemon Black and White 2 is the sequel game to Pokemon Black and White, the game was released on the Nintendo DS in June 2012 in Japan, and October 2012 in North America, Australia, and Europe.
Pokemon Black and White 2 takes place 2 years after the events of Pokemon Black and White, it’s set on the Unova region and begins on the west side of the region featuring new areas, new gym leaders, new legendary Pokemons, and a whole lot of other content, it also introduces new characters and Rival and features returning characters that were present on the last game, its interesting to see how the Unova region progressed 2 years after the events of the first games.
Pokemon Black and White 2 also introduced many changes from the 1st game for example the 2 Legendary Pokemon from the last game Zekrom and Reshiram recived new fusion forms with the other Legendary Pokemon Kyurem, that being White and Black Kyurem.
Black Kyurem (left) White Kyurem (right)
And since the game starts on the west side of the Unova region new areas were introduced such as Aspertia City, Virbank City, Floccesy Town, Lentimas Town and Humilau City have been added to the game.
Black and White Map
Black and White 2 Map
It also introduced some visual changes other areas were given a make over and some sprites was changed and given better animation, it still carries the moving sprite animation from Pokemon Black and White and Pokemon Black and White 2 added more animations to those sprites with better polish.
Medals are also part of the game where you acquire them by doing achievements like captured 100 pokemons, hatched 50 eggs, and many more, it gives the player rewards for all their time and effort and give something to look at.
Seasons are back once again in the game it affects areas of the game, for example if the game is on winter season some areas are covered in snow and some rivers froze, while on spring everything looks lush and green and the rivers are thawed, it also affects forms of some Pokemon in the Unova region, and some events are accessed on certain seasons.
Pokemon Black and White 2 has the most entries of local regional Pokemon in the Regional Dex having 300 entries of different Pokemons making it the most large Regional Dex in all Pokemon games.
Also one of the best parts of Pokemon Black and White 2 is the Pokemon World Tournament where you can battle every gym leader and champion and even characters in past games which makes for a bad-ass post game content, also all their battle themes are rearranged.
To summarize Pokemon Black and White 2 is an amazing follow up to Pokemon Black and White they gave more on what the past games lacked and they delivered, although the story of Pokemon Black and White 2 was not that good compared to Pokemon Black and White since Team Plasma the main villain team changed their ideals from a very ambitious one that makes you feel bad as a trainer to just want to freeze the whole world, nevertheless Pokemon Black and White 2 delivered their content and being the last game on a Dying Nintendo DS before switching the whole franchise to the 3DS they proved that they can make an even better game for the console and its a nice tribute and a farewell to the Nintendo DS and to the fifth generation of Pokemon since after Pokemon Black and White 2 the Pokemon franchise transitioned to 3D and Mega Evolution era. For me Pokemon Black and White 2 is a game that you should have if you own a DS it still keeps what makes Pokemon good and I think anyone can enjoy it.
The long time running 3D fighting game franchise Tekken is back with more content and gameplay features that every new and old fans will love.
Tekken 7 is a 3D fighting game and it’s the ninth game of the Tekken franchise and was developed and published by Bandai Namco, The arcade version of the game was released in Japan in March 18, 2015, and the full release of the game was on June 2, 2017.
Tekken 7 is the first in the series to have a story mode which focuses on the end of the Mishima Saga (Heihachi vs Kazuya), it features many characters from the Tekken universe and a guest character from another game (Akuma). The story mode featured cool fights and an insane difficulty mode after you finish story mode, it also has a story assist mode where you can execute combos more easier for other players that just want to experience the story.
Tekken 7 also has a gallery mode containing all the past movies of all games so you can relieve all the past games and catch up on the story.
Tekken 7 still retains what makes Tekken the easy to pickup but very hard to master game, you can still mash your way to victory but still retains the technicality of having 80-100+ moves per character, it also adds a mechanics called rage art where you can perform a cinematic super attack against your opponent, a rage drive where you can perform a fast enhanced attack, and lastly the power crush where you get an armor to absorb attacks and power through those attacks.
The customization in Tekken 7 is outstanding having many options to dress your character in many ways giving you freedom and more personality to your character off choice, you can also customize things like HP bar, player profile, titles, and many more on customization menu, there is also a treasure battle mode where you defeat the CPU to earn loots for customization and also earn offline ranks for your character this mode also replaces the ghost mode on past Tekken games.
The soundtrack in Tekken 7 is also loaded feature all the soundtracks from every game but this is only available on the PS4 version of the game, you can relive all the classic Tekken Tunes from past games or explore the new amazing soundtrack of Tekken 7.
The online play of Tekken 7 is amazing being one the modern fighting games to have a good netcode, since on the online mode the game runs at 8 frames delay it makes for a smoother experience since in default Tekken 7 runs on a 5 frame delay but on online they add 2-3 frames of delay to simulate the online delay making it smooth even for matches with people on very far locations.
Online Tournament Demo
Also Tekken 7 still introduces content until today they just finished their season 2 characters recently adding Anna, Lei, Marduk, Armor King, Julia, and Negan from the Walking Dead as the guest character. They also introduced other guest characters like Geese Howard from the King of Fighters, Noctis from Final Fantasy XV, and Akuma from Street Fighter, these characters makes Tekken have more flexibility in terms of character playstyle and roster and have people from the other fan base of the guest character be more into checking out Tekken 7.
In conclusion Tekken 7 is just an amazing game with full of content on its launch date not too many micro transactions and a full polished game, it takes what makes Tekken good and add even more to it, it’s still your button mashing complex game that everyone can play and even players from the 2D fighting games can transition to Tekken 7 easily since new characters like Akuma and Geese Howard features moves similar to 2D fighting game characters so it does a good job of extending their player base, and the jam packed content we receive and the game also has a pro tour makes Tekken 7 a lasting game and will continue to be relevant until the next Tekken game, plus the netcode for online play is amazing which makes competitive matches even better, it’s a great experience to all old and new Tekken players and surely it’s one of the best Tekken games to come out in a long time.
One of the best fighting game franchise of all time releases their newest collection game containing everything about Street Fighter for the last 30 years.
Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is a compilation of games from Street Fighter featuring 12 games and was developed by Digital Eclipse and Published by Capcom on May 25, 2018 for PS4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
The game contains 12 games from the Street Fighter franchise that being the original Street Fighter, Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II: Championship Edition, Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter III: New Generation, Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact, and lastly Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike.
The game has an Offline Mode containing Arcade Mode, Versus Mode, and Training Mode. In Arcade Mode you get to play all 12 games in classic arcade fashion, while on Versus Mode you get to play local multiplayer and choose one of the 12 games to play on, and lastly the Training Mode where you get to practice the game and all of it’s characters Training Mode only has 4 games available (Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike).
On Online Mode you get to play 4 games online (Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike) you can choose from Online Arcade where you get the classic arcade feel with having players challenge you while playing arcade mode, Ranked Match for a competitive online experience, Casual Match for a non-competitive online experience, Create Lobby and Join Lobby for casual matches, and Leaderboards to view the best of the best in the game, you can also adjust the online settings in Online Mode.
The Museum contains everything about Street Fighter for the last 30 years, you can look at the history of Street Fighter to know where everything began up until the present time, view all the characters that made an appearance in all of the Street Fighter games you can look at their backround and also see their moves frame by frame so you can see more details on how they were animated, Music mode contains all of the soundtracks from the 12 featured games, and the Making of SF contains the history on how each title was made and see early concept arts for each game.
Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition is overloaded with everything about Street Fighter it’s on hell of a tribute and celebration for 30 years of Street Fighter it contains almost everything you need to know from promotional art, games, concept art, music, history, and many more. It’s like a love letter for all Street Fighter fans to have this collection just reliving all the classic games in their arcade perfect version and also having the capability to play those classic games online just makes it even better.
Although the content that the game is amazing there are also some drawbacks, at online mode once your opponent has a bad connection the match can be very frustrating to play and the netcode of the game handles the rollback very poorly unlike other emulators that have online functionality like Fightcade where even your opponent has a bad connection the game still registers the input correctly while on the SF 30th Anniversary Collection once your opponent has bad connection the game will just freeze and not register your inputs, it makes online matches feel like a poor experience when you get to play people with bad connection and makes those matches like a waste of time especially if your playing the game competitively.
And another thing that’s also disappointing is having only 4 games on Online Mode and Training Mode, it will be amazing if I can play most of those games games online and having the ability to also play it on training mode, since not everyone plays the 4 featured games and other people likes to play the other old games since every version is different from the one another and other people want to play those game with someone online or just discover more about the game in training mode.
In conclusion Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is a damn good compilation game it contains 12 arcade games and the ability to play 4 of those games online, and you get a jam packed history about the games and the characters which is an amazing experience especially if you a big fan of Street Fighter, although the game has flaws like lack of games from online and training mode, and having bad netcode for online play, It’s a great pickup for those who want to experience 30 years of Street Fighter and play the classic games, but it’s not a worth buy for those who play on emulators with online play like Fightcade since you can play those arcade classics if you have the ROM and you can have better quality matches there since the netcode is amazing.
An anime about the aftermath of war, finding a purpose, learning empathy and sympathy, learning the word love, and stellar animation Violet Evergarden is one of the anime you should watch.
Violet Evergarden is an anime by Kyoto Animation and based on a light novel of the same name by Akatsuki, Kana.
The story of Violet Evergarden revolves around Violet an emotionless young girl where her purpose in life is to join the military and destroy the enemy, and after the war she was hospitalized and given a mission by Major Gilbert an important character in Violet’s life assigns her to be an Auto Memory Doll basically ghost writers that help their clients to make a letter, because of this we are introduced to the journey of Violet learning how to empathize, find identity, an most importantly learn what is love.
Violet Evergarden is like a trip to a roller coaster of emotions since throughout the show you are shown different stories of different each clients and while that is going you also see the character progression of Violet from being emotionless to someone who can empathize with her clients, and also Violet Evergarden has one of THE BEST standalone episode ever that being episode 10, I won’t say much about it because it’s best if you experience it on your own and you won’t regret it.
One of the strong points of the anime is the stellar animation it’s so beautiful and every details is just amazing even the water looks so good, it’s really one of the anime that has amazing animation and very good attention to detail, here is an example on why is it amazing.
All in all it’s a show worth watching and you won’t regret it, it’s an experience like no other and tells a story of someone who is finding purpose, identity, and learning love, it’s just 13 episodes and you can watch it on one sitting so if you’re looking a show to watch on your free time this is the show for you.
One of the best Mario Kart games and the first Mario Kart game to have an online multiplayer, we are going to take a look at Mario Kart DS.
Mario Kart DS is a racing game by Nintendo that features characters from the Mario Universe the game was released for the Nintendo DS on 2005 for North America, Australia, Europe, Japan, and 2007 on South Korea.
Mario Kart DS features the characters from the Mario Universe and pit against each other on a racing game, the game is a fast paced action packed game and it’s not just your ordinary racing game, this game features items that you can use to knock your opponents or give yourself a boost, and it’s a game best played with other people battling to see who is the best.
Mario Kart DS offers a bunch of gamemodes where you can have different experiences.
First is the Grand Prix a gamemode where you get to play 4 tracks and gather up as many points as you can to win, you can earn points by placing in a high place in different tracks, the game has 4 Grand Prix cups that features new tracks and another 4 cups that features tracks from the previous games, since having the abundance of many tracks in the game.
The Nitro Grand Prix with new tracks
The Retro Grand Prix with retro tracks
The game also has 4 difficulty settings 50CC, 100CC, 150CC, and 150cc mirrored, this difficulty affects the default speed of all karts with 50CC being the slowest and 150CC the fastest while the 150CC mirrored makes all the map reversed.
Mario Kart DS is the only Mario Kart game to have a mission mode where you try to accomplish many challenges likes collecting coins on a track driving through checkpoints and also boss battles, yes you heard that right you can have boss battles on this game it’s such a shame that we didn’t see this gamemode make a return on future Mario Kart games.
On the other hand Mario Kart DS brings back battle mode where you have 2 modes a balloon battle where you battle different racers and pop or steal their balloons using items and whoever is the last racer or team standing wins, while the shine runners game mode is a battle on whoever gets the most shine sprites wins, it’s one off the most fun gamemodes in Mario Kart.
Time Trial is also available on Mario Kart DS where you can challenge yourself to beat a track as fast as possible, you can also battle your own ghost or other people’s ghost, and you can also view the ghost’s movement on the bottom screen on the DS giving you a hint on how they move.
VS Mode is back and has online multiplayer, this is the first game in the Mario Kart series to have online multiplayer and at the time WIFI was kinda rare and this experience was amazing since you can battle people around the world, you can also battle bots on VS Mode or fight with people who also has the Nintendo DS and since the game is capable of download play if you have 1 friend that has the game you can have a multiplayer battle with them even if you don’t own the game, but you are limited to use only 1 character the full experience is when you both have the game you can choose different karts and characters, and since the Nintendo DS is a portable console you can bring the battle anytime and anywhere.
VS battle with CPU
Online Play
Local Multiplayer
The game also features many kinds of karts for different characters for example there is a kart that looks like a plane and a kart that looks like a tank and all those karts have different stats so choose what is the best one for you. You can also customize the emblem of each kart giving you a more personal look where you can race with style.
Mario Kart DS is a special game to me I played the heck out of this game when I was a little kid and the experience of playing with my friends was an unforgettable one, and I think that experience can also be reflected to other people since it’s a fun game and anyone can pick it up and have a blast playing it, and it also gave the racing genre a different take where instead of realistic racing we are introduced to a party style of gameplay that is challenging at the same time still keeping the fun in the game, no wonder this game is one of the best selling games on the Nintendo DS at the time.
I rate Mario Kart DS a 4.8/5 it’s definitely a game that anyone can enjoy playing together even if your new or has already played a Mario Kart game before.
